Glass Crescent Moon
A residence atop a cliff on the Kii Peninsula in Japan.
The sea is visible in the distance.
At night, it is embraced by the stars.
Living with this view, it is a house of the sea and stars.
For this reason, a glass crescent-shaped floor plan was adopted.
Behind it are a rectangular tearoom and the necessary functional sections.
Part of the existing house remains as a detached unit.
The tip of the crescent moon overhangs the cliff,
as if trying to invade the realm of the sea and stars.
